When you’re craving pizza, Little Caesar’s has a variety of delicious and cheesy options to choose from. Ordering has never been more appealing; this fast food favorite keeps things interesting with pepperoni “Crazy Puffs,” Italian cheese bread, stuffed “Crazy Crust” cheese, and meal deals that are too good to pass up. However, when you’re making healthier choices, you can ditch pizza and fast food altogether. That’s where we come in with the best Little Caesar’s order for weight loss, according to a dietitian.
We’re not claiming that this order will help you lose weight. But there are “healthier” options at many fast food restaurants to turn to when you’re on a diet, and Little Caesar’s is no exception. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, indulging every now and then is essential to making your plan sustainable and effective. That’s why we spoke with a registered dietitian to find out the best Little Caesar’s order for weight loss and why it’s a healthier option than other items on the menu.

If you’re heading to Little Caesar’s, consider the Hula Hawaiian, a large round pizza with pineapple and smoked ham. This pizza provides 121 grams of protein and 13 grams of fiber.
“When it comes to menu options, Little Caesar’s Hawaiian Hula Pizza has the best nutritional profile with the fewest calories and saturated fat of the pre-made options. This is with the exception of the Cheese Pretzel Crust Pizza with Cheese Sauce and the Thin Crust Cheese Pizzas,” explains Destini Moody, Registered Dietitian, Doctor of Health Sciences and Dentistrya registered dietitian specializing in sports performance, body composition changes and injury recovery with High-level nutrition coaching.
Moody adds: “If you just look at the numbers, both options are equally low in calories, but be careful. You have to keep in mind the principles of a balanced meal even when you choose pizza, in fact, especially when you choose pizza.”
According to Moody, most dietitians consider a “balanced meal” to include a lean protein, a fruit or vegetable, and a carbohydrate. The cheese topping on a pizza alone is not enough to provide a lean protein source for a balanced meal.
“According to Little Caesar’s nutrition information, their smoked ham is the best protein topping to choose, as one serving contains only 140 calories and 0 grams of saturated fat,” Moody tells us. The smoked ham also provides an impressive 26 grams of protein, the most of any protein option on the menu. That being said, be aware of the sodium content of the smoked ham if you’re at risk for or have a history of high blood pressure.
Tips for Ordering Healthier Food at Little Caesar’s
When dining at fast food restaurants like Little Caesar’s, keep the following tips in mind.
1. Consider the crust as your main source of carbohydrates.
A thin-crust pizza is a better option than a thick-crust pizza because it has fewer calories and refined carbohydrates. “Thick-crust pizzas have 500 more calories by default before the toppings are even added,” Moody says.
2. Have at least one vegetable on your pizza.
The more vegetables you can fit on your pizza, the better! “Without them, the pizza is pretty much devoid of antioxidants, other than the tomato sauce,” Moody says. However, to watch the calories, Moody recommends leaving out the black olives, as a serving of Little Caesar’s has 280 calories, which is the equivalent of ordering extra cheese.
3. Always opt for extra lean protein over extra cheese.
“It’s best to fill that space with extra lean protein, which not only cuts down on fat and calories, but can also help increase the satiety value of your pizza, meaning it will help keep you fuller longer and minimize later snacking,” Moody says.
