Ankur Warikoo was diagnosed with avascular necrosis and the doctors told him to stop walking. But he did not give up – he continued to run a marathon and carried out an inspiring weight loss transformation.

The Indian entrepreneur and content creator Ankur Warikoo is a transformed man. A diagnosis that changes the life of avascular necrosis, a painful condition linked to bone tissue, led him to take up a personal challenge to fight it and come back stronger. His doctor had asked him to stop walking, but he was persistent in his pursuit to transform his health. At the age of 44, he is now proudly “fatless” and displays abs of six packs.

In a recent Instagram post, Ankur Warikoo shared this trip, presenting his photographs before and after. It was not the first time he spoke of his fitness journey. He often shares information on his physical form and lifestyle habits. He previously revealed that he had followed a mainly vegetarian diet and spent from 79 kg to 69 kg.

Ankur Warikoo diagnosed avascular necrosis

“Stop walking!” The doctor had written – underconception, twice – on his prescription in February 2012. At the age of 32, Ankur Warikoo received a diagnosis of avascular necrosis. “My hip bone was decaying. I laid out in the 10% without cause,” he shared. The state led him to undergo surgery, followed by three months of complete rest and five more months based on crutches. It was a phase that tested both his physical endurance and his mental strength.

“Life told me to stop walking. How could I tell the life that this chapter is over and I won? ” In what he describes as a “moment of madness”, he decided to train for a marathon, far from the advice of the doctor. After ten months of disciplined training, he finished the half-marathon but the finish line did not look like victory. “I thought I would feel good about it. But I felt the opposite. I felt that I had mistaken. ”

Explaining this feeling, Ankur noted: “Until today, the maximum that I had ever run was 14 kilometers. I could have shown any day and finish the 21 kilometers without preparation. ”

A 26% body fat trip to six pack abs

This awareness led him to wonder: “What could I do for which I had to introduce myself every day?” And it was then he decided: “ABS of 6 packs!” At 33, with 26% body fat, Ankur revised his life. “I had to change everything to reach <10% body fat. And I did it - famous, sleep schedule, fitness routine. ” Although he was a food lover, he followed an almost vegetarian diet and focused on a healthy diet.

Ten years later, in 2024, at the age of 44, he decided to repeat the trip – just to prove that it was not a unique success. “Today, I am 44 years old and without fat,” he proudly shared. Its transformation is not only to build abs. It is the state of mind, consistency and resilience. “Recognizing this” second “life”, Ankur ended his post with gratitude.
