Dressings can contain a surprising dose of sugar and turn what should be a relatively healthy meal into something more akin to dessert. Even though no-sugar-added salad dressings are becoming more popular by the day, there are still many items on the shelves that unsuspecting customers may not realize are loaded with sugar. I’ve looked at some of the worst offenders and ranked them in terms of sugar content, from bad to the absolute worst. Here are seven of the unhealthiest salad dressings, ranked by their sugar content per two tablespoon serving (and really, who uses just two tablespoons?).
Wish-Bone Russian Dressing

Wishbone Russian dressing contains 6 g of added sugar per serving. This dressing also contains soybean oil and corn syrup, making it an ultra-processed food. Use it carefully and measure portions.
Great Value Honey Mustard Dressing and Dip

Excellent value for money Honey Mustard Dressing and Dip contains 6g of sugar per serving, which is pretty typical for this dressing. It also contains soybean oil and high fructose corn syrup. This is by far not the healthiest choice.
Good & Gather Organic Raspberry Vinaigrette

Good and gathering Organic Raspberry Vinaigrette contains 8 g of sugar per serving. Even though organic is better for your health, the sugar content is not ideal. Delicious yes, healthy, not so much.
Maple Grove Farms Fat Free Dijon Honey

Maple farms Fat-free Dijon Honey contains 9 g of sugar per serving. This product is a good example of how fat-free does not mean healthy: in many cases, the removed fat is replaced with sugar to provide more flavor. Always read the label.
Ken’s Steak House Country French (Lite)

Ken’s Steak House Country French (Lite) contains 10g of sugar per serving. With half the fat and 33% fewer calories than regular salad dressing, some shoppers might not realize the sugar content isn’t ideal, despite marketing labels.
Ken’s Steak House Fat-Free Sundried Tomato Dressing

Numbers 6 and 7 are tied for most sugars: Ken’s Steak House Fat-Free Sun-Dried Tomato Dressing contains 12g of sugar per two-tablespoon serving. The first ingredient is high fructose corn syrup, and unfortunately it doesn’t get much better after that.
Wish-Bone Western original

And the other worst offender is Wishbone Western Original which also contains 12g of sugar per serving. Also containing high fructose corn syrup as the first ingredient, this very sweet dressing should be used with caution. It’s way too easy to have more than two tablespoons if you look at it.
