As a child, the number of “healthy” soda brands was almost nonexistent. We sometimes bought in a Maman-et-Pop food store in the hippie university city where I spent part of my youth. Hansen was fundamentally the only brand of soda that I remember on the shelves. 35 years later, the healthy soda market explodes. Now there are so many soft drinking options with ingredients you can pronounce, and some are even filled with nutrients. We asked our nutrition expert, Tara Collingwood, MS, RDN, CSSD, LD / N, ACSM-CPT, a certified sports dietitian and co-author of the Flat belly kitchen book for mannequins: What are the healthiest soda options? Here are 7 brands with the least artificial ingredients, she said.
Spindle

Spindrift, which can be found in the consumer stores, is sparkling water that you can have confidence in drinking. It is “made with sparkling water and real fruit juice – no artificial sweeteners, colors or preservatives,” explains Collingwood, adding is “ideal for transparent simplicity”.
Zevia

My children and I are obsessed with Zevia (in particular the grapes and the brand new flavor of peaches and cream in limited edition) that we buy from Whole Foods. The brand makes “sodas zero calories sweet with stevia (and sometimes monk fruit)”, explains Colingwood. “Without artificial colors, preservatives and sugar.”
Virgil

Another Collingwood brand approves the least artificial sweeteners is Virgil’s. “Handcrafted sodas using natural flavors and cane sugar (or stevia online from zero sugar). No artificial colors, preservatives or corn syrup with high fructose content, ”she says.
Olipop

Olipop, a trendy brand of soda, is also on its list, an improved “clean soda” with prebiotic fibers, planting based on plants (Stevia, cassava syrup) and natural flavors. “No artificial ingredients,” confirms Collingwood.
Poppi

Poppi has made a brand in the world of healthy soda to have delicious flavors and minimum ingredients. “Sparkling prebiotic soda based on apple cider vinegar, agave / cassava prebiotics, natural and sweet flavors with stevia and organic cane sugar. No artificial ingredients, ”explains Collingwood.
Reeds

If you are a fan of the ginger select, respect Reed’s sodas. “Ginger -based sodas starring a real ginger root, natural sweeteners and no artificial or conservative colors.
Hansen’s natural soda and blue sky

The OGS, the natural soda of Hansen and the blue sky, also appear on its list. “The two brands avoid artificial colors and preservatives and use cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup,” explains Collingwood. “Hansen’s is known for flavors like Kiwi Strawberry and Mandarin lime, while Blue Sky offers entirely natural and sweet sodas.”
